A bomb disposal unit and police descended on an Uckfield home this morning (Thursday, July 23).
At 9.10am, Sussex Police officers executed a search warrant under the Explosives Substances Act at an address in Anvil Close.
Officers were seen going in and out of the property with lighting equipment and a Royal Logistics Corps Bomb Disposal vehicle arrived at about 11.45am.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: ”At 9.10am on Thursday (23 July) Sussex Police officers executed a search warrant under the Explosives Substances Act at an address in Anvil Close, Uckfield.
“Some items at the address are currently being examined by explosives experts from military ordnance disposal, to assess what their potential for harm may be.
“There is no risk to the public and no adjacent premises have been evacuated at this time.
“There have been no arrests at this time.
“There is no suggestion of any terrorist involvement.”
