BREAKING: Driver dies after Pevensey crash

Police have this morning (Tuesday) confirmed a driver died in yesterday's crash on the A27 at Pevensey.

The man died after his car collided head on with a vehicle on the A27 Pevensey Bypass.

The 66-year-old driver from Eastbourne was travelling westbound in his Vauxhall Corsa when it collided with a Vauxhall Agila travelling eastbound at 3.23pm. The air ambulance landed and he was treated by medics but sadly died at the scene.

The driver of the Agila, a 72-year-old Hastings man, suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. He is in a stable condition.

A third vehicle, a Citreon C3, driven by a 62-year-old man from Hastings, collided with the rear of the Vauxhall Corsa. He suffered a minor injury but did not go to hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision. Anyone who saw the collision or has any information should email [email protected] or ring 101 quoting Operation Littlewood.
