Two men forced their way into a man’s home in broad daylight and threatened him with a knife.

The terrifying incident happened around 10.20am on October 21 at the property in Willington Close, St Leonards. Both raiders had their faces covered.

It is believed that the men left empty handed and escaped after getting into a van being driven by a third person that was parked at the junction of Willingdon Avenue and Willingdon Close.

Detective constable David Elcock said: “The victim was so shaken that he did not feel able to report the incident to us until the next day. The incident must have been terrifying for him and we are determined to identify and arrest those involved. If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in or around Willingdon Close on 21 October, please contact us.”

A 31-year-old man from St Leonards was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. He was released on bail until December 22. Anyone with information scan email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 206 of 22/10 or call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
