Burglary at Lewes home sparks police appeal

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a house in Houndean Rise, Lewes, between 11.15am and 12.30pm on Friday 12 April.

Detective Constable Annie Nash said: “This burglary happened during a short space of time during the day whilst the occupier was out. “A number or jewellery items were stolen, many of sentimental value.

“Fortunately some of the items have been recovered, having been discarded in a playing field in Brighton.”

Anyone with information about suspicious activity, people or vehicles seen in the area, particularly about any vehicles seen parked along Brighton Road between the roundabout on the A27 and Lewes Prison, is asked to contact police.
