A WATER main in The Drove in Newhaven burst last night, flooding the road.
South East Water immediately arranged for staff to attend the site, where they were able to isolate the burst section of pipe.
This four inch water main supplies the nearby Sainsbury’s store which was not flooded.
South East Water was able to reroute water from other parts of the network.
A spokesperson said: “While water supplies have not been affected the force of the burst caused some damage to the road.
“Our technicians have now completed repairs to this section of pipe and we apologise for any in convenience this may have caused road users and thank them for their patience during this time.”
