Sebastian Amewudah-Rivers, 19, has recently started an apprenticeship within the LEAP project at Lewes District Council.

Here he recounts his first week in the job and discusses the exciting career opportunities that can be opened up by the apprenticeship route.

He said: “When I finished school, I looked at my career options and decided I would prefer to go down the apprenticeship route instead of going to university. I felt an apprenticeship was right for me and offered the opportunity to earn whilst I obtain nationally recognised qualifications.
