Developers Blue Sonic Ltd will launch an exciting new development of houses and apartments in Lewes on the market in the spring of 2014.

The Mayor of Lewes, Cllr Ruth O’Keeffe, cut the ribbon at the ‘topping out’ ceremony for Clayhills, marking the completion of a successful housing collaboration between the private and public sectors.

Blue Sonic has worked closely with funders Royal Bank of Scotland and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) through the development, as well as their shared ownership housing partners Affinity Sutton and Lewes District Council’s Planning Department.

Clayhills received £1.9m of the government’s Get Britain Building funding through the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). The site will provide nine three- and four-bedroom homes and 32 one- and two-bedroom apartments.

Andrew Newton, managing director of Blue Sonic, said: “Topping out Clayhills today truly marks the end of what for me, as a small housebuilder, has been a tale of triumph over adversity. When you take into account the difficulties small developers have had to contend with through the depths of the recession, Clayhills demonstrates that it is only with continued support from both local and central government businesses such as mine can bring forward this type of much-needed housing for the area.”
