Police are investigating after the rear window of a car in Framfield was smashed by an unknown projectile late on Sunday evening (February 28).

The Suzuki Jimny was being driven on the B2102 through Framfield village just before midnight when the window was smashed. The driver pulled up and found that in addition to the rear window being smashed, there was also damage to the front windscreen. However, no projectile was found in the car and there is no indication as to what may have caused it.

The driver was not hurt, but was obviously very shaken by the incident. He did look back and saw who he believed to be a man, but did not see any sign of a weapon.

Police attended and searched the area, but there was no trace of any suspect.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 5 of 29/02.
