Bexhill Carnival events continue to ramp it up with Party in the Park this evening (Friday July 24) and the Carnival procession tomorrow (Saturday July 25).
Jay Wootten, of the Bexhill carnival events team said tonight’s event has proved to be a hit. “Party in the Park is sold out, with the community keen to see Jay, Mike and Cheryl, formerly of Bucks Fizz and the 1066 Rockitmen,” he said.
“We would remind the public that no alcohol or glass bottles can be brought into the event, but please bring your picnics, chairs, and blankets to sit on so you can enjoy the evening.”
Bexhill Carnival’s final event will be the procession which is revered as being one of the highlights of the week.
Saturday’s procession, which includes the Carnival Court, starts at 1pm in Turkey Road, through Sidley, Bexhill Old town, Bexhill town Centre, and along the seafront, finishing at the Polegrove.
Tammy Goldspink Saunders, procession manager said the procession has attracted as lot of interest. “We are delighted to have over 45 floats in the procession this year,” she said. “From 1pm there will be a number of road closure orders in place around Bexhill, so please consider this when travelling around the town.”
The Polegrove opens on Saturday at 1pm and there will be a number of side stalls and arena events for all the family to enjoy including a fun fair.
Earlier this week, the Carnival’s annual Dog Show was a howling success with 300 entrants, whilst the ‘It’s a Knock Out’ attracted close to 2,000 people.
