Chance to be wner of piano at Lewes Mumford festival

If you attended the Gentlemen of the Road festival in Lewes in July you may have spotted, or even had the chance to play, the Steam Punk piano that was at the venue.

The piano was given to Priory School, Lewes, by headline band Mumford & Sons for the students to decorate for the concert. When they were set the task, it quickly occurred to those involved in the creation that the aesthetic nature of the inner workings would be well suited to a Steam Punk theme. Drawing inspiration from this movement, they plundered a wealth of scrap and produced an eye-catching creation.

There is now a unique opportunity to own it yourself, with a signed CD and letter from Mumford & Sons. In conjunction with the Lewes Round Table, the piano will be auctioned during the County Town Dinner at Lewes Town Hall on Wednesday.

The proceeds will be used by Priory to fund new IT suites, with a donation to St Peter and St James Hospice.

If you are not attending the dinner and want to bid, visit BPM at 28 Station Street, Lewes, and place your sealed bid, with your name, daytime contact details and address, in an envelope and drop it in the Steam Punk box. This must be done by 10am on November 27.
