A WOMEN’S only cycling event at Plumpton Racecourse to raise money for charity will be staged on September 30.
The timed race will cover a 40km or an 80km route along quiet country roads with spectacular scenery.
Riders can expect food and drink stops along the route, a popular pamper zone at the finish and even a helmet hair remedy centre.
There is no need to have a specialist bike for the race and there will be teams around the course to help mend punctures.
It is the first time the event has been held in Plumpton and it should give participants an achievable but challenging goal to work towards.
Cycletta’s partner charity is Macmillan Cancer Support and it is hoping many riders will fundraise for the cancer charity, but participants will be able to raise money for other local charities as well.
Cycletta ambassador and world track champion Victoria Pendleton (MBE) said: “Cycletta is the perfect event to get on two wheels with the girls and have some fun!”
There will also be changing marquees, post event massage facilities and children’s play facilities. All riders will be able to tap into pre-event training advice.
The women only Cycletta cycling series was launched in 2011 and inspired nearly 2,000 women of all abilities to get on their bikes.
Plumpton is one of seven women’s only Cycletta events taking place this year.
The 40k race costs £42 to enter, while the 80k race costs £46. To register visit www.cycletta.co.uk.
Macmillan Cancer Support helps people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
