The hunt to find this year’s Hastings Old Town Carnival Queen is over.

After weeks of searching, Chloe Stretton has been chosen as the winner and will wear the crown of Miss Hastings when she leads the procession at the 2015 Carnival on Saturday, August 8.

Chloe was a Princess in the 2014 carnival but applied again this year in the hopes of securing the top crown.

The 16-year-old was unveiled as Carnival Queen at a selection evening at the East Hastings Sea Angling Association.

Chloe, from Hornbeam Heights, attends St Leonards Academy, works as a children’s entertainer for Princess Hire and volunteers at Miss Kimmy’s School of Dance.

She has hopes of becoming an actress and has already appeared on TV in an advert alongside Jamie Oliver.

Last October, Chloe represented England in the Face of the Globe beauty pageant world final, which was held in London and Disneyland Paris, placing ninth overall.

She said: “I feel extremely honoured to be representing Hastings again this year and to be given this opportunity again. I am definitely looking forward to spending it with such a lovely court, and meeting new faces along the way. I hope I make Hastings proud and I look forward to seeing you all at the up and coming events throughout the year.”

Joining Queen Chloe in the carnival are this year’s Princesses, who have been revealed as Hannah Burgess and Talitha Ford.

Hannah, of Winchelsea Road, is a student who trains with a performance troupe in her spare time.

The 17-year-old was also a Princess in last year’s carnival.

For Talitha, this will be her first year in the procession after her application was unsuccessful in 2014. Also 17, former army cadet Talitha is a student who lives in St Thomas Road.

Carnival spokesman Ion Castro said, “We were delighted with the very high standard of the applicants and know that the court will go on to be splendid ambassadors for the young people of Hastings. We will all be very proud of them.”

Hastings Old Town Carnival is on August 8, with the Pram Race on the August 5. For details, visit, www.1066.net/carnival, where entry forms to enter the Carnival Parade can also be downloaded.
