Heathfield is set to get its own branch of iconic chain Costa Coffee. Uckfield land and property agents Lawson Commercial confirm they have let the former Halycon premises at 83 High Street at the west end of the town to Costa Coffee.
Richard Oldfield of Lawson Commercial who handled the negotiations said: “It is a tremendous boost for the town of Heathfield to attract such a well known name. This is also a particularly interesting building as, from the outside, it simply looks like a small shop, but at the back is a warehouse. Many years ago this building was the town cinema which accounts for its slightly unusual configuration and makes it ideal for conversion into one of Costa Coffee’s outlets.”
A significant sum is being invested in refitting the premises following the grant of planning consent. Residents hope it will not impact on the town’s other cafes.
