A-level students at Heathfield Community College once again achieved excellent results with more than half the grades at the gold standard of A* - B.
Headteacher, Alan Powell, said: “We are confident that these performances will once again put us in the top 20 per cent of schools and colleges across the country for adding value to expected grades for students.
“Exceptional results go right through the grades and well done to all.”
The star performers with at least three A*s were Masud Anwar (Chemical Engineering) and Kai Laddiman (Maths and Computer Science at Oxford).
Other students with the equivalent of at least three A*/As included Tom Boorman, Hattie Chapman, Holly Collicott, Danni Da Costa, Edric Eastaugh, Rebecca Evans, Zoe Holmes, Jake Marchant and Olivia McCarthy.
“Given the interest in Maths and Science in the press this year, we decided to look at the extent to which girls were going on from the College to courses and careers in this field,” said Barry Howard, Head of Sixth Form.
“Of those already mentioned, Holly is going on to study Natural Sciences and Danni Physics with Astrophysics. Amongst the others, Katie Hall and Charlotte Johnson will study Pharmacy, Beth Jamieson Biological Sciences, Amy Osbourne Bio Medical Science, Courtney Turner-Noakes Zoology and Katy Wells Chemistry.
“Of course, there are exceptional performers across all curriculum areas and we are already confident that all students in the year group will get into university courses to which they aspire.”
