Polegate’s Dickensian Christmas on December 7 raised a grand total of £595.60 for charity.
Polegate Town Council also said the Mayor’s Christmas tea party raised £235.52.
Cheques are to be presented to St Wilfrid’s Hospice and the Children with Cancer Fund.
Crowds flocked to the Dickensian evening where they saw the grand arrival of Father Christmas, who had hopped on a Southern train from Lapland.
The celebrations were officially opened by Hailsham Town Crier, Geoff Rowe, before Christmas tunes filled the air, performed by the Kingfisher Scout Band.
John ‘Dobbo’ Dobson turned on the Christmas lights accompanied by Polegate Mayor Cllr Malcolm Cunningham.
