A small boat with three people on board ran aground on Seaford Beach on Saturday night (March 1).
Newhaven Coastguard was tasked to the boat which was on shingle near the Buckle at about 9.15pm.
The boat’s three crew had attempted to refloat it but with a falling tide their attempts were unsuccessful.
They came back to attempt to refloat the boat on the incoming tide but without success.
The crew called the Coastguard for assistance but with no way of getting the vessel up the beach, the Coastguard asked Newhaven Lifeboat to tow the boat into deeper water.
A tow line was passed from the Lifeboat to the Coastguards on the beach who tied it to the boat.
The vessel was returned to a temporary berth in Newhaven Marina.
Safety advice was given to the crew, because they had no life jackets, flares or VHF radio aboard.
