A body found on the beach at Birling Gap, on Friday (December 13) is that of missing man Graeme Muir, police have said.
Mr Muir, 46, had been reported missing by his family in Alvaston, Derbyshire, on Wednesday (December 11) and his car was found at Beachy Head the same day.
Police said the coastguard was called after the body was found at 11.50am and sadly it was later identified as that of Graeme Muir.
The coroner’s officer is now dealing with the incident and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
An inquest was expected to be opened on Monday (December 16).
