Friends of Sussex Hospices (FSH) is delighted to announce that – following a last minute hitch - writer and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth will be appearing at its Summer Magic concert on June 28 at Framfield Grange.
He will appear alongside opera stars Charles Rice and Mary Evans. Also performing is classically trained comedy singing duo Bounder & Cad (Guy Hayward and Adam Drew), the 21st century’s answer to Flanders and Swann.
The hitch was because Maureen Lipman, originally booked for the evening, had to cancel because of an acting commitment.
Friends of Sussex Hospices chair Kathy Gore said: “All’s well that ends well. We apologise to anyone who has already booked, thinking they will see Maureen Lipman, but we feel very fortunate to have Gyles Brandreth in her place. It is sure to be a very entertaining evening.”
Organiser Jane Altenhoven says there are still some tickets available for the black tie event. “Come and picnic in the grounds or in one of our marquees before the performance, which takes place under cover and includes complimentary Champagne during the interval.”
