Photographer Dan Dunbar has launched his popular Polegate photography calendar competition for the fifth year running.
Residents have the chance to showcase their photographs in a calendar, which will then be available in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
Dan said: “This is a chance for local people to use photography to show what living and working in Polegate means to them.”
Residents are being asked to submit photographs taken from in and around Polegate, including buildings, scenery, local events and positive aspects of living and working in the area.
Judges will be looking for new creative approaches to well known Polegate and local landmarks and good technical ability.
Dan decided to open the competition again after the success of last year’s calendar which raised £1,500 .
It means the Polegate Calendar has now raised more than £5,000 in the four years Dan has been running the project, which he says is due to residents and businesses showing their support to the project.
Dan continued: “After the success with the previous calendars, I want the community to get involved to achieve another great calendar in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
“I want local people to use photography to capture well known local and recognisable views from a new angle, to show Polegate and the local area from a new and interesting viewpoint.”
The competition is open to all local residents who have until midday on October 17 to enter their four images into the competition.
Calendars will then be available from Polegate shops from late November.
Images can be sent along with the image title and your contact details to Polegate Town Council, 49 High Street,Polegate.
