The Ale and Hearty project comes to an end with a big celebration in Lewes on Saturday, January 18.
The finale, at St Thomas A Becket Church Hall, will see the launch of the ‘Ale Tales’ booklet, the result of 20 oral histories that relate a recent social history of brewing in and around Lewes. There will also be a family crafts workshop, a chance to view the exhibition, a film showing, a Q&A discussion, delicious food – and, of course, local ale.
On the discussion panel are Miles Jenner, Head Brewer at Harveys, David Muggleton, Editor of The Sussex Drinker, John Copper, of the renowned local folk singing family, and the Rev Godfrey Broster, of Rectory Ales. There is no need to book for the session from 12noon-3.30pm, but booking is essential for later attractions from 4.45-8.30pm. For tickets email firstname.lastname@example.org
