Crowborough Leisure Centre – operated by Freedom Leisure – is inviting families to its free summer open day on Saturday, June 7 from 10am-4pm.
Organisers say there will be plenty of activities to suit the whole family in the leisure centre itself and outdoors on the Goldsmiths field and sports track.
Adults can watch or take part in group exercise taster classes including Kundalini Yoga and Kettlercise, visit refreshment stalls and sample the barbecue.
Children can take part in a wide range of sports activities, jump in the bouncy castle and try out the inflatable obstacle course in the pool as well as have their faces painted. There will also be gymnastic demonstrations and traditional sports day activities including egg and spoon races, sack races, three legged races and a 100 metre sprint competition. There will be prizes on the day for the top performing teams including family swimming vouchers, family leisure passes, kids club and Splashdance vouchers.
Entry to the summer open day is free although Crowborough Leisure Centre is encouraging customers who join in activities to make a donation to the British Heart Foundation, Freedom Leisure’s charity of choice, through charity buckets. There will also be a small charge of £2 per family to take part in the sports day competition.
Centre manager Michaela Rouy said: “We hope that by opening our doors for a completely free day of fitness we will encourage more of the local community to come to the centre and try something new. Whether you enjoy classes, sports or working out in the gym we’ve got something on offer for everyone.”
