A chance to play tennis with Jersey’s top player James Connelly is just one of the attractions at the Seaford and Blatchington Lawn Tennis Club open day on Sunday June 8.
James is an assistant coach at the club while he attends university locally.
Adults and children of all ages are welcome to attend the event at the club in Belgrave Road from 10am to 4pm.
There will also be discounts on membership if anyone joins the tennis club on the day.
And there will be a mini tennis competition with prizes which the club said was for people of all ages and abilities from beginners upwards.
The game is played with a lighter ball which is easier to hit and smaller rackets.
Other attractions include a state of the art ball machine which can be set at any speed up to 70 mph – the speed a professional player would hit at.
Head coach Dan Stoner is even offering the challenge to “beat the pro” and a speed gun will measure the speed of your serve, with a prize if your speed matches a number chosen at random before the day.
Seaford sports shop Intersport will supply the prizes and staff will be on hand, offering great deals on tennis rackets.
Membership deals will be on offer and if anyone signs up on the day they can benefit from a 50 per cent reduction on a year’s membership which, for a family of four, could save them more than £200.
Refreshments will be on sale, run by Seaford’s Cafe 7.
Intersport will be at the event with rackets to try out.
