Uckfield Lions Club presented the second defibrillator they’d pledged to provide for public use to Buxted Sports Association last Friday.
It will stay at the Pavilion in Buxted Park which is shared by cricketers, bowlers, stoolballers and many other groups.
After the presentation they joined users of Maresfield Recreation Ground (where a defibrillator had already been presented) for a brief training session.
It was part of the Uckfield Lions’ Keep Hearts Beating initiative made possible with help and advice from the First Responders Unit (also supported by the Lions) and compatible with the units used by the NHS and the Ambulance Service.
It is failsafe and designed to be used by people with no training or experience, telling users what to do stage by stage.
The Lions are now considering where the next unit should go.
