Coastguard teams from Hastings and Rye Bay rescued a dog which fell off a cliff at Ecclesbourne Glen at Hastings Country Park on Wednesday (August 13).
In an epic rescue mission which took place over two days, the coastguard eventually managed to rescue the female labradoodle yesterday (August 14) at 5.30pm.
The dog slipped over the edge off the cliff onto a narrow ledge surrounded by thick brambles whilst off the lead at about 3pm on Wednesday.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency were called, sending out rescue teams from Hastings and Rye Bay.
Using dog treats and meat, the rescues teams tried to tempt Pepper but were unable to persuade her to come to them.
The rescue was called off on Wednesday evening but resumed again on Thursday morning, taking until the afternoon to retrieve the dog.
Delighted to be reunited her owner, Pepper was unhurt but thirsty and exhausted.
