Two long-standing staff at a town centre estate business have clocked up 70 years of service between them.
Sue March and Adrian Tongue are long established staff at Andrews Estate Agents and have no intention of retiring yet.
Sue joined the business aged 21.
She said: “I hadn’t specifically considered a career in property but now I can’t imagine anything different. There have been many changes over the course of my career here, not least of all the pace with which Information Technology has evolved –when I started I used a manual typewriter. I’d advise any young person considering a career in estate agency to go for it. So long as you’re prepared to work hard, listen and observe there are a myriad of opportunities to take advantage of.””
Adrian joined the business aged 26 after a career in radio and TV. His move was prompted in part by his impending marriage and the desire to have a stable career. He said: “While technology has had a positive impact on the property sector, I can’t foresee a time when this will completely negate the need for a personal touch.
“Buying a property is often the biggest investment someone will make and they want to be sure they’re making the right move.”
