Delighted Year 11 students at Chailey School are celebrating achieving excellent GCSE results with 72 per cent of students gaining five or more A*-C passes, including English and mathematics.
There were exceptional results evident across a wide range of subjects for students of all abilities.
Headteacher Lesley Young said: “There is no doubt that despite the increased rigour and changes to the examination system, with all subjects being examined at the end of the course, students and staff have met those challenges with great success. “The skill and commitment of our staff, the hard work of our students and the support of our parents and carers has combined to produce such brilliant results and I am absolutely delighted to see everyone’s efforts rewarded.
“As an inclusive school we are also delighted to see that every student achieved one or more A*-G grades.
“Students, staff and parents at Chailey have proved that whatever changes to the exam system come our way we are confident and capable in meeting those challenges with commitment and success - well done everyone!”
