A traditional village fete will raise money for the Anglo Saxon Church of St Andrew’s in Bishopstone.
It will take place Saturday August 2 from 12 noon to 4pm on the village green (known locally as the Egg) behind the church and at the Parish Hall.
There will be stalls, a raffle and light lunches, teas and cakes.
Visitors can listen to music from Seaford Silver Band and there will be a Punch and Judy show.
The popular Fun Dog Show will start at 2pm and registration will begin at 1pm. There are eight classes,
Categories will include fancy dress, waggiest tail, best six legs, prettiest bitch, most handsome dog, best veteran,
junior handler and dog most Like its owner.
The church is believed to date from between the 6th and 8th centuries.
Bishopstone church has a sundial in its porch, inscribed with the name Eadric, who was the King of Kent in 685AD.
