Four injured in Ditchling collision

Four people were injured in a collision that blocked a Ditchling road for several hours yesterday (Tuesday March 18)

The B2112 Common Lane at Ditchling was shut following a four vehicle collision yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene just north of Ditchling at 1.17pm.

Four people were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with injuries which were assessed as serious but not life-threatening.

An 18-year old man and a 16-year old boy, both from Surrey, were arrested nearby on suspicion of theft of one of the vehicles. They are currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.

The road was still closed at 5.30pm and drivers have been thanked by police for their patience and understanding while the scene was examined and cleared and the road made safe.
