Wealden District Council is hosting a free Information Day on Tuesday (April 29) from 10am to 1pm at St John’s Church Hall in Polegate for older members of the community.
It will offer advice to people living on a fixed pension and give information about offers, support and advice for people aged 60 and over.
Cllr Claire Dowling, Cabinet member for Public Health and Community Safety said: “This event is always popular, and I would urge residents to make a note of the date so they don’t miss out.
“There will be over 30 stands, staffed by local businesses and voluntary and statutory organisations, providing a wealth of information about services in Polegate and the south of Wealden. With people living and staying independent for longer, it is important that they are aware of all the opportunities and help available to them.”
There will also be live music, featuring local musicians and a free raffle. Waitrose supermarket is donating free tea and cakes. Everyone is welcome to attend.
