A fun and safety play day will take place in Hailsham on February 18.
The free event organised by Wealden District Council will feature a children’s entertainer, a football penalty shoot-out, police van, dance mats, arts and crafts, face painting and refreshments.
It will run from 10.30am to 1pm, at the Children’s Centre in Vega Close, Hailsham.
An extra attraction this year will be a ‘hook a duck’ game organised by Wealden’s housing repairs contractor Richardsons.
Fun and Safety is open to all ages but children aged under eight years old must be accompanied by an adult.
The event encourages children to think about keeping safe in a range of different situations which includes personal safety, the prevention of home accidents, fire prevention, food safety and community safety.
It brings together a range of public services with Wealden to help get the message across.
These include East Sussex Children’s Centre, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, Active Play and Sussex Police.
Cllr Claire Dowling, Cabinet member for Public Health and Community Safety at Wealden District Council, said: “Fun and Safety is a great half term’s morning out, with some important safety messages sneaked in.
“We are grateful to all our partners for providing such a range of exciting activities. Last year’s Fun and Safety in Hailsham attracted nearly 300 people; we hope even more will attend this year.”
Funding for hosting this event has been awarded by the Safer Wealden Partnership.
