Pupils at Ringmer Community College are celebrating after achieving a 70 per cent pass rate in the latest GCSE results.
Teachers said they were pleased to see that for the past four years the school’s result for five A* to C grades have stayed at or above 70 per cent.
A spokesman for the school said: “Despite the national trend this year, demonstrating a dip in results following government reform, Ringmer has continued to produce some outstanding success stories, with a number of students achieving seven or more A or A* grades.
“Our Sixth Form had 100 per cent A level pass rate and all students achieved their places at their chosen university or college.”
Kathy Stonier, Principal, said: “This current year group have been challenged by constant changes to examination criteria and moving goalposts, they have all been in revising during holiday times and evenings with our dedicated staff and their results have shown that they can and have succeeded in gaining good qualifications.”
