A colourful and captivating exhibition is coming to lewes in an exciting development of the Railway Land Project.

It takes the form of creative upcycling from around the world, curated by knowtrash, and will be displayed at the Linklater Pavilion in July and August, kicked off by the annual Railway Land Festival on July 6 from 2-5pm.

Families can take part in upcycling workshops throughout July and August led by skilled local makers, and give everyday waste a surprising new lease of life.

At drop-in workshops, you can make Tetra Pak purses, rolled paper bracelets, junk robots, personalised notebooks and plastic paddle boats.

At pre-booked workshops, you can learn to weave plastic bags, create toys from odds and ends, collage a troll hand puppet, create a unique working clock, plait a rag rug and craft a fantastical bird from yarn. Booking is now open through Eventbrite ‘Treasure from Trash’.
