Representatives of a youth employment training scheme showed their support by attending a special ceremony to celebrate the achievements of young people who completed the latest course as part of the Hailsham Works! project.
The Mayor of Hailsham Councillor Jo Bentley joined invited guests and Tomorrow’s People project staff at the third Hailsham Works! graduation ceremony which took place at the town council offices on July 4, at which framed certificates were presented to graduates by the mayor.
Awards were given to eight graduates including Robert Caridad, Jordon Puttock and Charlie Hayward.
The Mayor said the town council is delighted with the latest training cohort and the success of Hailsham Works!
Cllr Bentley said: “I’d like to congratulate all the young people who graduated on the third Hailsham Works! scheme.
“It’s been a pleasure witnessing the team help them on their journey and I’m sure project staff will continue to work closely with them over the coming weeks and months to ensure their continued success.
“Since the launch of Hailsham Works a number of local employers have offered training and apprenticeship opportunities to our young people, including the town council itself which employed a part-time receptionist from the very first cohort which graduated last autumn.
“We are very fortunate to have Hailsham Works in place and it’s great to learn that the scheme is on target to create even more apprenticeships well into the future.”
Carolyn Fogg, Community Liaison Coordinator said: “We are delighted by this group’s success, they have all worked so hard.
“We will continue to keep in contact with our graduates and offer them support if needed on an ongoing basis. Well done everyone!”
