A social group which provides a lifeline for blind and partially sighted people in Peacehaven and East Saltdean may fold due to lack of volunteers.
The Peacehaven and Saltdean Social Group, which is part of East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People (ESAB), has been offering a monthly gathering for many years.
The club is now appealing for volunteers to allow it to organise the group and save it from closure.
Meetings take place on the fourth Monday of the month, offering a lifeline to its 20 members.
ESAB chief executive officer Daniel Brookbank. who was saddened to find out the group was in trouble, said: “These groups offer our members a social interaction that some of them would not get without it.
“Members love coming to the hall and seeing their friends, listening to music and enjoying tea as well as going out on trips.
“If the group were to fold the members would lose a small but essential service.
“I would urge anyone who has a few hours to spare on one Monday a month to get in touch with us to help us save this wonderful group.”
