Hailsham Community College said a formal ‘goodbye’ to the year 11 students at its Prom at Wellshurst Golf Club on June 20.

The students maintained tradition by arriving at Wellshurst in a variety of methods of transport which included ice-cream vans and tractors, as well as the more usual limousines and vintage cars.

There were large numbers of parents and friends at Wellshurst to see them arrive and the students looked stunning, dressed in spectacular dresses and dinner suits.

The Prom took the form of a formal three-course, waiter-served meal, followed by dancing until midnight.

All the guests and staff commented on how much they had enjoyed the event.

The students, as usual, were impeccably behaved and a real credit to the college.

Principal, Phil Matthews said: “Once again, this was a superb event.

“The students have worked incredibly hard for their examinations and they thoroughly deserved this opportunity to dress up and enjoy themselves.

“We hope to welcome many of them back to Hailsham Community College’s Sixth Form in September.”
