The Mayor of Hailsham Cllr Jo Bentley will be getting into the spirit of spring when she joins in the celebrations of the Hailsham Choral Society’s annual Spring Concert.
The evening will take place at All Saints Church in Eastbourne on April 5 at 7.30pm.
The concert will feature performances of Rutters Mass of the Children and Durufle’s Reqiuem and include a special appearance by a choir from St Bede’s Prep School.
Cllr Bentley said: “It’s lovely to hear that the Hailsham Choral Society has organised yet another distinguished line up of choristers and instrumentalists for their annual spring concert. I have been impressed by the society’s first-rate performances in the past and am confident that the concert will prove popular. Therefore, I’d strongly recommend people considering attending to book their seats as early as possible.”
Pam Russell, chairman of the Hailsham Choral Society, added: “This is going to be a very special concert for the society as we will be joined by young people from Bede’s Prep School. Their voices will bring a freshness and vibrance to this lovely setting of the Mass. The Durufle Requiem, written in 1947 in memory of the composer’s father, is fast becoming a favourite with singers and audiences.
“We are looking forward to this concert and hope you will join us for what will be a special evening of two very different but wonderful pieces of choral music.”
Admission is £10 and tickets are available at the Hailsham Camera Centre, from members of the choir, online at wegottickets.com or by calling 01323 870515. Further information about the Spring Concert can be found at www.hailshamchoral.org.
