A hairdressing firm held a fundraising event to raise funds towards setting up a scholarship for those wanting to make a career in the hair and beauty industry.
Elite Hair Academy (EHA) hosted the showcase at the Bannatyne Spa Hotel in Battle Road, St Leonards.
At the event there was a hair show, dancers, drummers and retail stands.
Susan Fynes, EHA business manager, said: “Our showcase event was a huge success and we have been inundated with congratulations and thanks from members of the public and industry professionals. I am extremely proud of all the hard work that the students and staff have contributed towards the show, resulting in putting Elite Hair Academy firmly on the map as the south east’s leading educational provider in the hairdressing and barbering industry.”
The EHA tutors conducted an on-stage demo involving hair up, cutting and barbering. Students’ hard work was featured in a catwalk show involving two categories, ‘vintage’ and ‘avant-garde’, where each student presented their own catwalk models. Compering was done by Arrow FM and Kaddy Lee Preston from the BBC and awards presented by Mayor Bruce Dowling.
