Ice causes disruption on rail network around Lewes

There was disruption on the train network between Lewes and Haywards Heath this morning (Thursday, April 28) due to ice on the track.

Southbound lines between the two stations were blocked because ice on the rails was preventing trains from getting electricity.

Trains were unable to serve Plumpton and Cooksbridge stations southbound while engineers worked to resolve the problem.

Passengers were able to use Brighton & Hove buses between Seaford and Brighton while services were disrupted.

The lines reopened shortly after 9am.
