Independent Eastbourne businesses could be set for a boost thanks to a new project.

The Eastbourne Town Team is helping visitors and locals to find their way around the town.

Decked in their trademark orange T-shirts, the team will be out and about on Saturdays after a successful four days at Airbourne.

The team has also designed a new app to guide people around the town.

Signs have been placed in and around Eastbourne to help visitors and locals explore.

They will be used in conjunction with a team of greeters who on Saturdays during the summer, and at special events, are distributing the Town Team’s Free Map and Guide to Independent Eastbourne.

Stephen Lloyd MP joined in with Town Team greeters to spread the word to the Airbourne masses that Eastbourne has much to offer in terms of independent shopping.

“Our many excellent independent shops and businesses in secondary retail areas across the town are hoping to benefit from a raised awareness and footfall with the new signage scheme,” he said.

“You can find Town Team’s fantastic Free Map and Guide at the many different independent retailers throughout Eastbourne. Do use them and also make use of the offers and what’s on information at www.EBNOW.CO.UK. This is a superb new app designed by the Eastbourne Town Team.”
