The Chailey Commons Society is marking its 50th anniversary with a special exhibition.
‘Arts and Artefacts’ will celebrate the commons in paintings, drawings, photographs and maps.
It is being staged in the Village Hall at Chailey Green on the A275 on Saturday, September 27, from 11am until 4pm. Refreshments will be free all day.
The society was formed in 1964 to bring together local people with an interest in the ecology and nature of the five commons at North Chailey and has provided a focal point for walks and meetings throughout the year.
Members have enjoyed a variety of activities, many participating in the events including surveys, bug hunts, fungus forays and focused walks.
