The Lost Industries of Lewes will be the subject of a talk being given by John Davey at Newhaven Historical Society on April 1.
Lewes was once a hive of industry and its river banks were lined with cargo docks and warehouses.
John owns a collection of photos built up by his late father, Leslie Davey – or Mr Lewes as he was known by the older folk of the town.
The pictures give a fascinating glimpse of the days when Lewes was both home and workplace to all its residents, reflecting a time when sons followed their fathers and grandfathers in the family trades.
The talk starts at 7.30pm at the Hillcrest Centre in Hillcrest Road.
Visitors will be charged a £2 entry fee.
