Another pop up art exhibition will be staged in Seaford featuring work by aspiring artists and the chance to learn to paint watercolours.

All you need to do is book yourself a place for Saturday or Sunday (April 26 and 27) at The Crypt Gallery in Church Street.

The exhibition, from 10am to 4.30pm both days, is being staged by the Last Minute Artists and will include watercolour workshops from Lorus Mayer.

Amongst the work on show will be pieces by Harry Ward and Connor Tomsett, who are working towards achieveing their Silver Arts Award at Mercread Youth Centre as part of their last secondary school year.

With the help of youth work artists Iain Paxon and Michelle Martin-Dufaur they have explored various mediums such as photography, pyrography, experimental music, printing and stone carving.

Harry has chosen to explore pyrography as his challenge, which is the art of burning images onto wood.

He is a keen sketcher and has transferred some of these, and found images, onto breadboards and furniture.

He has also taught a successful pyrography workshop to adults, where he received great feedback.

An early example of Harry’s work can be found in Seaford Community Garden at the Crouch.

Connor has used Photoshop to enhance an existing interest in photography.

He has transformed everyday objects and familiar landscapes essentially using macro, mirroring and colour enhance.

Connor has given others Photoshop tuition and produced an accompanying small booklet.

Jim Pilston, making his debut with Last Minute Artists, makes his sculptures from recycled, reclaimed and salvaged materials.

He is inspired by English and German folk toy and popular art, and by children’s animation from the ’70s.

Watercolour workshops will take place between 11am and 4pm on Saturday and 12.30pm to 4pm on Sunday for a £5 donation towards materials.
