Little Horsted gets fit for charity

Final preparations have been made for the fifth Little Horsted Fun Run on Sunday, May 11.

Organiser Nigel Woods expects this to be the biggest run so far based on numbers already signed up, including groups from running and sports clubs, local schools and individuals who want to raise money for a charity of their choice through sponsorship.

He explains this has been helped by generous support by three sponsors, McDonald’s (Bell Farm Lane and Blackdown Services, Maresfield;) Godfreys Golf and Turf and R W Green Ltd.

Last year there were more than 250 runners. With more expected this year extra car parking spaces have been provided.

Nigel said: “We have had lots of people sign up who are not runners but see this as a challenge or training goal. The Fun Run has now become an annual event and attracts runners from across the county and beyond.”

Everyone who completes their run in either one, five or 10k categories will receive a medal. Spectators can watch the runners start and finish from Isfield cricket pavilion and be there for medal presentations.

Refreshments will be available.

Anyone interested in taking part can find out more and download an application form from the website: www.littlehorstedfunrun.co.uk.

The first run starts at 10am so runners are advised to get there by 9.15am to sign in.

Runs start and end at Isfield Recreation Ground.

Parking is available on the ground itself, Isfield Village Hall and at Hollygap Farm Shop.
