A man was airlifted to hospital with head injuries after he was in collision with a car in Hellingly in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday July 30), police said.

The 55-year-old man had just alighted from a silver Volkswagen Passat in The Drive, Hellingly at 1.30am when he was in collision with a car, police said.

The man suffered head injuries and was airlifted to St George’s Hospital by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Service.

His condition is described as serious but stable, police said.
