Abdul Hussain, Home Energy Efficiency Officer at Wealden District Council, has received the National Energy Action’s Heat for Heroes award for his work in making a significant contribution to helping those struggling with the effects of fuel poverty.
Adbul ran roadshows and energy cafes, wrote information material and held training sessions.
He has worked in both the public and private sector to secure funding, through and for a number of partner organisations, to deliver improvements to the most vulnerable households.
Cllr Graham Wells, Cabinet Member for Housing and Asset Management said: “I am delighted that Abdul is getting the recognition he deserves for the work he has done to dramatically raise the profile of energy efficiency, renewables and green energy across the Wealden area.
“He has delivered substantial improvements to all housing sectors but in particular to vulnerable households and those in rural communities.”
