Mayor of Hailsham, Cllr Jo Bentley, joined fellow councillors and Tomorrow’s People project staff at the second official Hailsham Works! graduation ceremony which took place at the Civic Community Hall.
Framed certificates were presented to graduates who take part in the youth employment training scheme, including Craig Figg and Matthew Thomas.
The Mayor announced that the town council was delighted with the success of the Hailsham Works! project since its launch last August.
After the event, Cllr Bentley, said: “Congratulations to all the young people who graduated on the second Hailsham Works! scheme.
“Once again I’m very impressed with their many accomplishments throughout their course and I’m also grateful to project staff for their hard work from the outset and the enthusiasm they have offered the young people of our town through this important employment training scheme.
“I wish everyone who was honoured at the graduation ceremony the very best for the future and every success to those starting out in their careers.”
Carolyn Fogg, Community Liaison Coordinator, added: “We are delighted by this group’s success, they have all worked so hard. We will continue to keep in contact with our graduates and offer them support if needed on an ongoing basis. Well done everyone!”
Businesses and individuals – named the ‘Hailsham 100’ – were also praised at the event for supporting the Hailsham Works! project by way of donation, time, creation of job and providing opportunities for the young people of Hailsham.
