New history sessions for pupils held at Michelham Priory in Upper Dicker

Shield training at Michelham Priory

Shield training at Michelham Priory

If you visited Michelham Priory in Upper Dicker during half term, you might have been surprised to see a group of Saxons forming a shield wall as part of the new education sessions being offered at the site.

Changes to the National Curriculum are expanding the way primary school children learn about history.

Therefore the priory has introduced new sessions to explore the lives of the Saxons.

Activities include exploring artefacts, making jewellery and coins, and taking part in shield wall training.
