A new social club aimed at photographers of all abilities is preparing to launch in Sovereign Harbour.

The Sovereign Harbour Photoclub UK is following in the footsteps of the Kingsmere Digital Camera Club, which was set up nearly five years ago and is enjoying strong membership numbers.

The new social club will welcome photographers of all ages and abilities and will be dedicated to the residents of Sovereign Harbour.

The launch will take place on Monday, November 10 at Simply Italian Restaurant Annex at the Harbour Waterfront at 7pm. The club will meet every Monday at 7pm thereafter.

The objective of the club is to have fun and to help members take better photographs with the camera they have, including Smartphone cameras.

It will also aim to increase the knowledge and ability of less experienced members through projects, exhibitions, competitions and workshops, supported by talks and demonstrations by the more experienced members.

Nine people are already on board after the announcement was made in the Sovereign Harbour Residents Association’s August publication. Anyone interested should contact Sam Sweiry via a dedicated email address at sovharbourphotoclub@gmail.com.
