A Newhaven man was sentenced to two years and eight months for sexual activity with a girl who was aged 15.
Adam Willmore, 23, appeared at Hove Crown Court for sentencing on Friday February 7 following his guilty plea on January 16 to three counts of sexual activity with a girl under 16.
Willmore, formerly of The Crescent, Newhaven, was initially sentenced to three years imprisonment.
He was served with a ten year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) severely restricting his access to children, and was required to sign the Sex Offender Register indefinitely.
At the same court on Wednesday February 26, on appeal, the sentence was reduced to two years eight months.
The offences took place between July and September 2012 and resulted in the young victim, who was 15 years old at the time, becoming pregnant.
Detective Constable John Steven said: “The victim in this case was vulnerable and her life has changed forever, something which cannot be undone. “The sentence imposed will ensure that the risk from this man is minimised and emphasises that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.”
