People who live in and around Uckfield are being encouraged to nominate their favourite businesses for one of the Uckfield Business Awards 2014.
Among the Award categories that people can vote for are ‘Retailer of the Year,’ ‘Best Looking Shop,’ ‘Best Place to Eat’ and ‘Tradesperson of the Year.’
To nominate, people can either vote online at www.uckfieldbusinessawards.co.uk or pick up a nomination form, which can be found at various locations around the town, including the Civic Centre.
With backing from Uckfield Chamber of Commerce and support from Uckfield FM, the 2014 Awards are being co-ordinated by Neil Edwards from The Marketing Eye, Adrian Corbin from Scientifica and Gary King of Uckfield FM.
Neil Edwards said: “Uckfield boasts a wide variety of shops and restaurants – both independent and part of larger chains, as well as lots of skilled tradespeople. If you’ve got a particular favourite, then now is the time to thank them for the great experience and service they offer you by nominating them for a 2014 Award. It’s really easy to nominate your favourite business – so take part now.”
‘Retailer of the Year’ in 2012 was PipeDreams, the snow, surf and skate shop in Uckfield High Street. Julie Hobbs, from PipeDreams, said: “We felt incredibly proud that so many of our customers voted for us. Although we have an online shop – having a High Street presence is really important to us.”
The Awards evening is being held at East Sussex National on November 6 and the closing dates for nominations and entries is September 8.
